Support Article: To Backup Your
Data
WinAA users should perform backups of their data on a regular basis. We recommend
that our customers backup daily and rotate the backup media. This prevents corrupt
media from causing a total loss of data. At a minimum, users should backup the
aadata.mdb file located in the AA folder.
If your agency is utilizing the document imaging feature
in WinAA then we also suggest backing up your image storage path. This path can
be found under System Setup > Agency Information > Default Image Storage Path
from the Main Menu.
Caution! The image storage path can be very large depending
on the volume of scanning in your agency. Please consult a computer technician about
the proper backup media.
WinAA does not include an internal backup program, however,
you do have a lot of backup options. It is very important that you backup your files.
The first option you have is to use the backup utility that comes with your Windows
operating system.
· To start the Backup click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point
to System Tools, and then click Backup.
· If you do not see Backup on the System Tools menu, it is not installed.
· To install Backup, click Start, point to Settings, point to Control Panel, double
click on Add/Remove Programs, and then click the Windows Setup tab.
· If you used a compact disc to install Windows, you will be prompted to insert
it into your computer.
Notes:
Under Components, click the component you want to add or remove.
To add all parts of the component, select its check box.
To remove all parts of the component, click to clear its check box.
To add or remove some parts of the component, click Details, and then click to select
or clear check boxes for those parts.
